Employee Readme – Mandy: My path in ALTEN China

07/05/2018

What kind of training an intern needs to go through before becoming a formal employee?  Will there be a lot of effort and sweat behind?

Today, Mandy, who has already become a formal employee in ALTEN China, will tell you about her story as an intern.

"Confused, anxious, overwhelmed, these are my initial state."

It has been two months since Mandy arrived in ALTEN as an intern. My university major is English. Obviously, I am a total "outsider" when it comes to "recruitment" and "engineering".

I must admit that I didn't even understand the job description at the beginning. It was like a bunch of words I knew were placed on a piece of paper, but I didn't know what they meant as a whole. Fortunately, I joined a very good team and team members are very willing to help me.

Nowadays, I have become an official employee of ALTEN China. This is inseparable from the help and support of the team members. Therefore, I would like to talk about my feelings in the past two months.

Teamwork made me find a sense of belonging

ALTEN China not only owns engineers from various fields such as automotive, IT and aviation, but also has many experienced senior recruiters. The atmosphere of our team is willing to share, as an intern, I received "support" from all parties. Both the HR team and the recruiting team members gave me great help.

Amy, my Team Leader, when I'm not familiar with professional terms, she finds time to listen to me lecturing in the form of report regarding specific vocabulary and teach me the right way of learning; Roy, no matter how busy he is, always teaches me patiently to screen the resume and the communication skills of the cold call, the simulation of some of the candidate scenes dialogue, practice-based learning methods allow me to grow faster.

The company also carries out some internal training on a regular basis. In such a team, I feel the value of ALTEN: Teamwork, which made me quickly find a sense of belonging.

Too many first time in my life

In this “red, blue and yellow” office, where full of laughter, enthusiasm and ambition, I experienced too much first time in my life: for the first time, I called a candidate, totally nervous stuttering and sweating; for the first time, I just told others righteously that I was the Recruiter of ALTEN China; for the first time, I was turned from an intern into an official employee.

Fortunately, I can join such a good team and meet such a group of interesting people.

Regardless of whether he/she is an intern or a formal employee, ALTEN China attaches equal importance. The enthusiasm and solidarity displayed by the employees may be the greatest productivity and wealth of ALTEN.
