Mathieu ——Challenge Yourself in Technological Development

As a team leader in the Airbus Helicopters project, Mathieu is in charge of the maintenance and progress of an application related to equipment’s technical data. At the same time, he is also a senior engineer who manages a six-person team on application adaption plan about 2 years. Let’s take a closer look at this work that combines technology with project management.

 

 

Q: Can you talk about your past experience?

A: I got my master degree in business management information technology application in Marseille. During my study, I had an exchange experience then I got a long-term contract for an information technology company. Six years later, I wanted to start a new plan and be more responsible in company. In the interview of ALTEN, 2 interviewer managers impressed me a lot and I think I was considered to be hired in the process of interview. As I wish, I was hired as the team leader, between the programmer and the project manager. 

 

Q: What’s the Airbus Helicopters you are in charge of about?

A: I am responsible for an application maintenance. This application can query the technical data of helicopters. And it is opened to all members who bought the Airbus helicopter, also being used to maintain these helicopters. My daily job is to improve this application, manage six-person team’s technical work and daily functions. The customer follow-up including quotations, orders, technical meetings and leadership (teams), etc. is also included.

 

Q: How do you keep connection with ALTEN China while being responsible for customer’s project?

A: With ALTEN China’s dedicated platform for Airbus Helicopters.We have many ways to keep connection and my manager will also visit me regularly. For myself, I go to the company to report the progress of the project and discuss the team's vitality, etc. We are now trying to stimulate the vitality of team members through arranging an adjustment for our open office.

 

Q: What opinion do you have on the future progress of this project?

A: Aeronautics is an industry I’m very obsessed with. Recently, we have supposed to Airbus Helicopters about improving application and they have approved it. This project will last 2 years actually, involving a complete improvement of more advanced technology. At current, I hope I can enrich my experience of team leader and probationary project leader and be promoted to project manager in the coming 5 years. And it’s necessary for me to do the technical and procedural work.

 

Q: How do you adapt to the continuous development of the science and technology?

A: By individual effort. We will organize different activities to challenge ourselves frequently, such as: mini programming marathon, each other’s individual development plan and games… Recently, we start a series of games about artificial intelligence to learn a new programming language. And it’s a work we need to keep studying.

 

In the last of the interview, Mathieu says that the project of Airbus Helicopter make him contact with people from different countries regularly.
